Ganzhou further strengthened the Supervision and Integration on Rare Earth and Tungsten Resources

    Learnt from People's Congress and the Chinese Political Consultative Conference in Ganzhou, in 2012, Ganzhou took the opportunities with South of Jiangxi Development Supported by the State Council according to the goal that “to facilitate the high-end orientation of mineral resources, to stick on combination of resources integration with high-end mineral resources development, to emphasize on establishing advantageous industry group of rare earth and tungsten and their applications” set in the fourth National Party Congress in Ganzhou. On one hand, Ganzhou was positively boosting the supervision and integration of tungsten and rare earth exploitations; investigating and strictly punishing the illegal exploitation; carrying out the continuous exploitation of tungsten, rare earth exhausted mines and launch pilot projects for comprehensive use of rare earth. Ganzhou strove for advantageous quotas of tungsten and rare earth exploitation for itself, and went on the strategic actions on exploring mines and achieved good results on exploration of tungsten and rare earth resources. On the other hand, Ganzhou was pushing integration of tungsten and rare earth resources and rapidly developing deep processing. Five areas of big tungsten mines integration have already been finished, and the platform of tungsten development has been established. The main part of rare earth integration has been done, and the establishment of large-scale Southern Rare Earth Group based on Ganzhou Rare Earth Group Co., Ltd. is now speeding up. In 2012, even the minerals prices had a large drop and the rare earth production stopped, the development of rare earth, tungsten and their applications industry in Ganzhou kept a good situation. In the same year, 68 billion Yuan prime operating revenue with 20% growth from rare earths, tungsten new materials and other strategic emerging industries can be expected. It is targeting to become the 100 billion Yuan industries.

    According to the introduction from responsible person of the relevant department, in the future, Ganzhou will strengthen to connect and implement policies on South of  Jiangxi Development, and further strengthen the supervision and integration of tungsten and rare earth exploitation; Ganzhou will also strictly execute mineral resources overall planning, authorize and monitor the exploration and exploitation of mineral resources. Additionally Ganzhou will accelerate the integration of mineral resources and insist the principle of combining resources integration and high-end mineral industry development. It is going to positively support a batch of high-end enterprises with high technology, long industrial chain and less pollution, such as Chongyi Zhangyuan Tungsten Co., Ltd., Ganzhou Zhongrui Material Technology Co., Ltd., and JLMAC Rare-earth Co., Ltd. The mechanism of supporting enterprises is going to be established and advantageous resources will be concentrated on high-end mining enterprises. At the same time, Ganzhou is actively implementing strategic actions on exploration of minerals and enhancing tungsten and rare earth industrial resources guarantee.
