Regarding to the safety when use cutting tools

►  About the safety of the cutting tool products
1、Cemented carbide material has high specific gravity, it needs to be paid special attention in large size and quantities, and it should be handled as heavy goods.
2、 After cutting tools are ground or heated, dust and smoke will be produced. When the dust and smoke contact with eyes or skin or inhaled by human body it will be harmful. Dust collection devices like masks, goggles, gloves and other protections are recommended. Use water and soap to clean hands in case of dust. Wash hands before meals and working place is not recommended for meal. Use dust collector or washing methods to remove the dust on the clothes, and don’t use hands to contact with the dust.
3、According to the reports, the cobalt and nickel in the cemented carbide tools are possible to cause cancer. Repeated or long term contact with the dust and smoke may be harmful to the skin, respiratory organ and heart.

Attentions need to be paid when using cemented carbide cutting tools
1、The strength of cemented carbide tools could decrease dramatically due to poor surface preparation. The diamond grinding wheels must be used for finish machining.
2、Note: the cemented carbide tools could be damaged under high shock and pressure due to hard but brittle property.
3、Compared with normal metal materials, thermal expansion coefficient of cemented carbide is smaller. Accordingly during shrink fit or cooling set, there may be some cracks if the temperature is much higher (or lower) than the set temperature.
4、Store the cutting tools in dry places. The cutting fluid and other liquid would corrode tools and reduce strength accordingly.
5、Note: during welding cutting tools, there may be peelings or damage if the fusion temperature of welding material is much higher or lower.
6、There may be some cracks after edge preparation. So whether there are cracks needs to be checked carefully.
7、The cracks on the surface would decrease the strength of tools during cutting tool manufacturing with EDM. The cracks need to be removed by finish grinding if necessary.
